How wonderful it is to find a podcast in the mailbox in the morning! Nikita Kuznetsov aka Lighta is the creator of the Selector community. A man who intensively promotes the UK hardcore continuum and does it quite successfully (radio broadcasts in previous years, guest mixes—his example should definitely be followed), Nikita has recorded an absolutely awesome mix, which from this day is known as number three, for the modest website 12″.
I often fantasise about being at the birthplace of genre, listening to pirate stations and noticing similarities in their new tracks. I dream of being in a club and recognising the birth of a new sound, witnessing history in the making at that very moment. I often wish I could have experienced the intersection of jungle and techno or witnessed the emergence of British progressive house. But today Nikita opened a teleporter that sends us to the early nineties for 50 minutes: to crazy breakbeats, heavy bass, spiritual breaks and unpunished vocal sampling. Nice! And guess what?
