GLBDOM — 12×08 showcase

Podcasts are everywhere. DJs visit each other and show off selections from their collections. Nothing criminal. But nothing interesting either. My podcast is different: I ask small interesting labels to record a showcase of the music they release. The outcome is a real essential mix of the guest, not a BBC1, but rather their reflection and essence.

Today, there’s an interesting showcase—the young Moscow house label GLBDOM (gluboky dom—the literally translation of deep house term in Russian) which releases young musicians from different parts of France, Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands and Switzerland. “These are the musicians we listen to ourselves and whose music we respect,” the representatives of the label explain. “GLBDOM is a music blog, a podcast series and an independent Russian house label. This mix consists of our favourite tracks that have been released or will soon be released on our label. Despite the fact that the main focus of the project is house music, GLBDOM will soon delight listeners with a vinyl release of instrumental hip-hop, as well as cassettes of breakbeat and jungle.”
