Tonight is an evening of halfstep and experimental drum‘n’bass. Sometimes I ask interesting musicians to record a showcase that will consist exclusively of their work. In less than a year of publishing artist’s mixes, we’ve had quite a few jungle and drum‘n’bass episodes. Each of them was special: ragga, atmospheric, soulful, darkstep, drumfunk, techstep and obscurantism. Today Ilya Dailiv presents his view on confusing rhythms: “The mix consists of works with different times of release; it’s dominated by gloomy moods and mostly it’s broken experimental music at 170 bpm, which sometimes leads to techno.”
