Next on our list of youthful films about music is G:MT—Greenwich Mean Time. Although the musical plotline isn’t paramount there (G:MT is the casually dropped name of a jazzy jungle band during its introduction to record bosses). In the foreground are the relationships of the characters, recent high school graduates. “World at my feet”, say yesterday’s graduates with youthful optimism, but four years pass and they are still at the bottom, struggling with the challenges of adult life at the age of 22, including the fact that at such an age a whole life can go down the drain and unbreakable friendships can fall apart in an instant.
