A brief history of Hardstep Jungle

Hardstep appeared in the first half of the 1990s, when jungle musicians discovered the original Amen break and were surprised to find out that the original percussion part had a massive bass drum, which makes the track bouncy (before that, the Amen break was taken from hip-hop samples, where the bass drum was removed for some reason). Thanks to the possibilities of digital samplers, which helped to cut up the percussion into many parts and play around with their places, hardstep found its intricate rhythmic pattern with repeated repetition of the heavy drum.
