Tangerine Dream & Schiller — Morgenstern. The story of the collaboration

One of Schiller’s latest albums features a beautiful collaboration with Thorsten Quaeschning from Tangerine Dream. Thorsten was first a pupil of Edgar Froese, and when the founder of the band left our world Thorsten became the keeper of traditions and the main face of the band. Morgenstern is an ode, typical of electronic romantics, to Venus seen in the sky before dawn.

Schiller: “I’ve known Thorsten Quaeschning a very long time. We have always said that we want to work together. What we have now made is from a live concert. It is a real-time composition. Which is mostly improvised. We have programmed the sequence, then, with a completely open mind on recording and playing music. A total of 60 minutes, which we have edited down to a half hour. This was the first take and we have to leave it at that. Something does not repeat.”
