In the “Live” category, we have an hour and a half of Underworld, made from the band’s best performances in different venues as part of their 1999 tour in support of the Beaucoup Fish album. It’s the last live tour with the classic line-up: Karl Hyde, Rick Smith, and Darren Emerson. Together, they brought the band to the top, but Darren wanted to spend more time on his music and devote himself more to the management of the Underwater label. Nevertheless, these 90 minutes contain all the classics from the former rock stars: Cowgirl (Everything-Everything-Everything), King of Snake, techno Moaner, Jumbo,Pearls Girl (Crazycrazycrazycrazycrazy) and, of course, Born Slippy.Nuxx.
It’s nice when artists pay attention not only to the music, but also to its packaging. Throughout the live set, the tech-savvy Smith and Emerson’s work behind the mixing desk and Hyde’s delusional lyrics alternate with design inserts made by Tomato, which, in addition to commercial orders, also prepared the design of all releases and concerts for Underworld.
