When it comes to Faithless, it’s a bit of a shame that they are perceived as a one-hit wonder Insomnia/Salva mea (the older ones could add God is a DJ and We come 1, the tuned-in could remember Take the long way home and I want more). In the first years of the band’s life, the members labelled the things that blast the dancefloor as Big, Epic, Monster, or Euphoric mixes. Besides the original club originals and their very interesting variations, the band released dance versions of ballads from their first album, diverse in genre, where Insomnia and Salva mea were among the dynamic works. Remixes from guest musicians, in whose skillful hands the band’s compositions sound unrecognisable are also often forgotten. Anyway, I took all my favourites from Faithless and put them into one 2.5 hour mix.
