Lemongrass / Best 1998—2022

Roland Voss did funk in the 1970s, explored the possibilities of electronic instruments in the 1980s, and in the 1990s decided to start not only recording music, but also releasing it. He tried out jungle and trip-hop, but settled on soft and light music with a leisurely rhythm. In the late nineties, Roland mixed fragments from other people’s records with publicly available samples under the name Lemongrass, and at the end of the noughties surprised us with ambient albums that had only a dense drone of synthesisers. Since then, he has been alternating between these elements. Over 25 years, Roland has released a lot of music and the best is included in today’s five-hour mix.
